Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures

With our new Bell entrance, there are some changes to pick-up and drop-off routines. The good news is, it is easier than ever for students to safely get onto campus! 

General Drop Off and Pick-up Information:

Grand View campus now has two parking lots and drive-thrus for parents to drive and drop-off their children, one along 24th Street and the other by the new building located at 2617 Bell Ave.

 

*Please note that TK and Kindergarten students must be picked up by the classroom and will not be escorted to cars in the parking lot drive-thru.

 

Walking or Riding to School

Drop Off:

  • All gates will open at 8:00am.
  • Feel free to enter through any gate that works best in relation to where you live. 

Students & Families will need to wait in the following "holding areas" until the 8:10 bell rings:

  • Upper Playground benches
  • Mid Level
  • Just outside the Administration Building
  • Gate on Bell

Once on campus, you can drop off multiple kids if needed. 

 

Pick Up:
Ongoing:

  • TK & Kinder must be picked up from their classrooms.
  • 4th and 5th can exit out of the gate that works best for them, so long as a guardian has coordinated a plan with them. We recognize that students may need to exit various gates to meet up with parents, or to walk home, etc.

For Now:

  • 1st Grade Teachers will walk students to the large Upper Playground Gate.
  • 2nd and 3rd Grade Teachers will walk students to their respective gates at the Upper Lot.

**After we get the hang of things, we can work to support 1st - 3rd graders needing to exit through gates other than the Upper, and can help to escort them. We recognize that it may be easier to reunite with students at the Bell gate. 

 

Driving to School

  • It is IMPERATIVE that families using the drive-through option PULL ALL THE WAY UP to minimize the bottlenecks. We REALLY need everyone’s help with this! I promise, we’ll all get to school faster!
  • The drive-through is ONLY for adults NOT exiting their vehicles! 
  • If you plan to escort your child, you need to park your car elsewhere. 
  • Please make sure your student is familiar with the walking route if getting dropped off in the drive-thru.

EDP Drop off and Pick-up Procedures

EDP Morning Drop Off is from 7:00am to 8:00am. Kindly refrain from parking in staff parking spaces. Families may enter through the front office to drop their child off in ROOM 2. All morning EDP students will go to Room 2.

At 8:00am, EDP teachers will drop your child off directly to their respective classrooms.

In the Afternoons, EDP Teachers will pick up students from their classrooms and bring them to the EDP classrooms. Our TK and Kindergarten students will either be in Room 2 or Room 18. 

Parents can pick up their child(ren) anytime after school using the Upper Playground gate from their respective EDP classrooms. Families will be required to sign their child out.
